The night is young. A mocha frappe after offset work, a couple of sticks of kretek. A friend of mine draws line-art, while another friend writes for his home-based racket. The cars speed along Julia Vargas. I look out to the glimmering lights of the condominiums and wonder if tomorrow, there will only be brief moments of sunshine on a cigarette break.
